With a penchant for adventure and the whole country at our fingertips, we've had a hard time choosing a single place to settle down. We were hungry for change and eager to find a place that felt like a better fit for us than our home ever had. Desperate for the freedom we'd felt in Denver, we moved back as soon as possible (in 2017, less than a year later). Kristen BringeShortly after returning to Denver, we had our daughter, which raised the stakes in our search for place perfection. We wanted to give her a great life and thought finding an ideal place to do so was essential.

She can't work a 9-to-5 due to a back condition she said she developed in the Air Force. She's behind on her rent, and the amount she makes from driving can't cover most expenses. DENVER (AP) — Colorado Republican state Rep. Mike Lynch announced he's stepping down as minority leader Wednesday, a week after The Denver Post reported that Lynch was arrested in 2022 on suspicion of drunken driving and possession of a gun while intoxicated. Lynch is also running for Congress in Colorado's 4th District, a hotly contested race recently joined by Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert after she announced she was switching districts. “I want it to be clear that I’m not stepping down because I won a close vote of no confidence,” Lynch said to gathered lawmakers on the House floor. The report details Lynch telling King he was a supporter of law enforcement and asking the trooper to call Colorado State Patrol’s legislative liaison at the state Capitol. A vote to elect a new minority leader will be held Thursday morning.

Though aerospace and defense funds understandably haven't done well in this year's faltering market, some individual stocks have posted substantial gains. U.S. support in what's turning out to be a long war in Ukraine will likely push overall contractor spending higher, benefitting aerospace and defense companies. In this era of high-tech warfare, when strategic military engagement is more about digital systems and aerial weapons than boots on the ground, aerospace and defense companies are advantageously positioned. Maggie Peddicord and her boyfriend, Joseph, bought a school bus and traveled in it for one year. To fund their journey and bus expenses, they both started working on the handiwork app Taskrabbit. Before I started on Taskrabbit, I worked as a research assistant at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Once we moved in and started traveling, it cost about $500 a month for gas and other repairs and about $250 a month for groceries. Joseph networked with Taskrabbit clients by finding people who might be interested in selling or purchasing a yacht one day.

Companies Boeing Co FollowJune 7 (Reuters) - Boeing (BA.N) was sued on Wednesday by a Colorado company that accused the aerospace giant of stealing trade secrets for NASA's Space Launch System rocket, and then building components with "critical" safety flaws that could endanger astronauts. "Boeing has captured billions of dollars in revenue because of the infringement of Wilson's trade secrets," and must turn over "all revenues and profits Boeing has obtained as a result," the complaint said. Wilson also said Boeing stole trade secrets related to bolt installation tools for its 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Boeing has described NASA's Space Launch System as the most powerful rocket ever built, and "the backbone for a permanent human presence in deep space." Real estate investors Aria Khosravi and Alan Blue did their first home flip in 2009. While flipping homes can be a lucrative business, it's far from guaranteed money. Friends and business partners Aria Khosravi and Alan Blue have paid their dues in the industry. We've made a lot of mistakes along the way and they cost money. Now, they know exactly what to expect and what to look for — and their business is booming thanks to their experience.
Since executing that deal in 2009, the investors have done 91 flips mostly in the Denver area, they said. They did 15 in 2022 alone and turned $1.2 million in gross profits, according to a profit-and-loss statement of their LLC viewed by Insider. "You're going to want to look at the age of the furnace. Because if you feel kind of strange when you're looking at it, so will the potential buyers." But now that we've been doing it for a long time, we know what to expect and we know what to look for."
They experimented with other ventures, including a hookah lounge, before focusing on real estate. Along the way, the entrepreneurs opened a hookah lounge and a bar before committing to real estate full-time in 2019. While they had a real estate agent showing them homes, Khosravi and Blue found their first property on their own. "I was visiting some friends at ASU and there was a hookah lounge there. At the time, "we were making $35,000 a year, if that, from the hookah lounge," added Khosravi.

The University of California is investing $4 billion with Blackstone to acquire rentals and student housing. The investment comes at a crucial time for Blackstone's Real Estate Income Trust Inc. fund — also known as BREIT— a $68 billion property investment vehicle. "We consider BREIT to be one of the best positioned, large-scale real estate portfolios in the US, managed by one of the world's top real estate investors," said Jagdeep Singh Bachher, the University of California's chief investment officer. The University of California's investment could become a model for other universities with large endowment funds — typically in the billions of dollars — that want to invest in real estate investment trusts or commercial real estate assets. BREIT's portfolio includes assets in popular college towns such as Fort Collins, Colorado, where Colorado State University is located, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which is home to Louisiana State University, according to the fund's website.
This week, Samuel Adams maker Boston Beer debuted Loma Vista Tequila Soda, a ready-to-drink tequila cocktail in both lime and mango flavors. Last year was the 12th consecutive year spirits have taken away market share from beer in the total U.S. alcoholic beverage market, according to a report earlier this year from the Distilled Spirits Council, a national trade organization. The beer category, which includes hard seltzer, accounted for 42% of the U.S. beverage alcohol market in 2021, while spirits accounted for 41%, according to DISCUS. At this trajectory, spirits are pegged to overtake beer in market share in the next few years, even though beer sales have grown. The downward trend of beer market share has also been reflected on the online ordering and alcohol delivery platform Drizly.
Latinos were 31 percent of the state’s high school graduates that year. But at 31%, the six-year graduation rate for MSU’s Latino students lags far behind CU Boulder, where it was 63 %. Seventy-two percent, 510, of the middle and high school students enrolled in the program for 2020-21 were Latino.
